SPACEY AWARDS...me and special 'K"

l was asked by Natasha to present the Spacey for the best animated feature....even though l have never recieved one (hint, hint) l thought it would be a fun time. l brought my dauyghter with me so she could see how things work and have some fun....'K' was so shy but when she was asked to give out the wnners name she was ready .

We taped the presentation in my fav comics shope in Hamilton called Hamilton comic connection...Ted and super 'L' are always in good spirits they run the best store in Canada..yep, l said it.

look for a update on the art side.....l got tons to show.

l worked on a issue of '52' and although it was fun it was so odd working over some else's layouts. l had a fun time doing this amazing project, my issue was early on ...#7 was the one l did. these are some of those pages as they were being drawn....l'll post the layouts so you can see how much it changed.

l get a few emails regarding my process for doing pages and covers...well to be honest l don't really have a process other than getting a page out and just doing it. l thought this might be a fun image to see half way done. l recall this cover being done before the written material was complete so l did a more standard shot of the scarlet speedster....more stuff to follow .

l am doing a new project with DC right now and l think people might be surprised at what it is. stay tuned.

B-day....l always know...l use the force.....

while l got some crazy good stuff from my girl's for my birthday ....one was a 'hug' which l take with me everywhere . l got a hand drawn card by my buddies Noah and Dylan. Noah went all out with this Starwars card, how did he know l wanted this? he has a gift for story telling.

Dylan did a super job with his card which l will showcase when l'm done posting here.

l did not get my candy yams but l did get the best b-day ever.

thanks to all who came and although l found out about the surprise party a few days before....how? l guessed! and my wife is a terrible lair so it was easy to figure it out. l had a great time

My Birthday is here....

l found this image of me doddling and l thought about how much my life has changed over the last year . l dropped about 350 pounds of dead weight....they know who they are , and found a better class of talent and character in the new editions to my crew. l have been drawing like a mad fool with the Animated feature-DC comics-Lucasfilm-Portfolio-Disney-Hasbro etc .......my wife has been amazing and the girls are the sparkle in my life.l spent to much time away from them and now l have a balance.

the past year has been the most rewarding in my artistic life . l am working on things that l thought would be years away for me ...that is the way it has been for me in the past year...l guess when you focus, you can move beyond the boarders you put around yourself. l want to say peace to my extended family all over the world, l feel like drawing everyday...that's new for me ...or at least the past few years.

oh, today l'm going a special dinner my Mom has made for me...no details , just the time l'm to arrive. l better get my Candy Yams.....oh , what do l care...l'll be with the people who matter most.

l just watched the HBO Special ''When the Levee's broke''......l don't think l have ever seen anything so disturbing in my life. l have been to New Orleans to see my favorite team play , l have been a die hard Saints fan for years and l went a few years ago to a game in the Superdome.

To see streets l walked on and places l visited underwater .....l don't have the words. l have a pair of shoes l bought at a sports store across from the Dome that l will never throw out, l just feel like a peice of NewOrleans is in my house and should remember what it was like.

l won't get into it ,but man........l was moved to tears at least 3 times.
